Diwan<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1537288393l/41898189._SY475_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="475" data-original-width="295" height="320" src="https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1537288393l/41898189._SY475_.jpg" width="198" /></a></div>
The story began with a lot of promises to take a reader through a roller coaster ride of intrigue and happenings. I was ready to be thrilled and horrified. What I was not read ready for was the weaving of characters that sounded so real that I found this book unputdownable.<br />
<br />
At least for me. The prologue of the story gave me creeps. I could almost hear Chuckie talking to me. Imagine understanding the thoughts of a two-month-old and not being freaked out by it.<br />
<br />
The story follows the life of Payal Chatterjee as she gets involved in the scheme of a madman. I loved the way the place has been described with trains and wilderness. I could almost imagine the scene as Payal ran through them as the golden masked man followed her. Goosebumps.<br />
<br />
Another character that stayed with me was Rudolf. I am not writing the last name since I can’t even pronounce it. The negative shades that were created in most of the characters left an impact throughout the story.<br />
<br />
Don’t read this book looking for logic. This is an out and out thriller, where the writer has taken many creative licenses. And aptly so. A fair warning, the book does not end here but carries on to the next book. This would have been very frustrating if the author had not written the whole book. But he has. Warlock: Valley of Death has been released. I can’t wait to get my hands on that one too but I need a break since it’s too much of a mind play to take in all at once. But that’s me, the romance writer and reader talking. If you love thrillers with psychotic characters and hallucinations where the line spreads thin between imagination and reality - you must pick up this book.<br />
<br />
The reason for my star rating…<br />
<br />
Story-wise the book deserves a five star but editing could have been much better. Semicolons have been too liberally used and punctuations are missing. But if I could go beyond that to read the story, trust me it’s worth it.<br />
<br />
Warlock by Vickram E. Diwaan was published on September 14, 2018.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51qdfjDHm-L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="322" height="320" src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51qdfjDHm-L.jpg" width="206" /></a>Have you ever traveled with a toddler over a long distance? I have. When my daughter was just a newborn, my hubby decided that being possessive about one’s territory is not good for a child’s upbringing. ‘We need to show her the world,’ he would quip. And me, greedy for this wealth of learning and traveling, I followed suit. But during those days no one had warned me about the terrorizing moments one can have while traveling with a toddler. Ear pains to runny noses, demands of walking to carrying the child and not daring to move an inch. Glaring at people for talking loudly to looking pathetic under some reproachful stares. You name it, and I have done it all.<br />
<br />
So when I got a chance to read Fight or Flight by Dana Bachar Grossman, I was stunned to see her words etching my experiences. I could empathize with her as she tried to keep her calm and dignity in the flight. The worst thing I have faced while traveling is the rudeness of the fellow passengers. So when Dana says –<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: center;">
That’s just adults crying in their own way! - </div>
</blockquote>
And I can totally understand that. When it’s our kids, we want to collect all the sympathies but when we see other’s doing it, I think we remember our ‘those’ days and want to shut them out. Though the author has given a solution regarding this calling them #GoodDeedOnTheFly, I feel it’s too utopian a concept. But then you never know. An idea can change a society, so why not?<br />
<br />
An overall interesting book to read not only for mothers but also for anyone who travels a lot. You never know when you will need the #GoodDeedOntheFly ideas. Happy travels folks. Stay safe.<br />

<br />
How does a woman go out on a date with her husband, returns home to make love to him and wakes up in another world? A very riveting premise that will take you through the journey of Sarah as she searches for her identity amidst lies and embedded memories. As the line between reality and surreal vanishes, she must know what has happened to her memory before more deaths occur.<br />
<br />
Downer has done a commendable job in creating characters from the history to the present day, with uniqueness and mystique that will make this book unputdownable. My first shock came when Sarah confused between New Delhi and New Deli, Missouri and Mussoorie. Clever play with words. The story takes interesting twists and turns as it makes your travel between the past and the present and between different countries. The second surprise came when we traveled to the court of Chandragupta Maurya to Ashoka. Meeting characters from our past and weaving them in the present has been made the story interesting.<br />
<br />
The only peeve I had with this book was the abundant usage of commas. But due to the freshness and the plotting of the scenes, it can be overlooked. Overall I can only say that this book is a mixture of mystery, historical and sci-fi. A must-read for mystery lovers.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/514Ogw3Xb3L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="305" height="320" src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/514Ogw3Xb3L.jpg" width="195" /></a>Complexities of relationships are brought out best in a romance. Nivedita Verdula had woven an intrinsic detail of love, loss, and discovery with her characters. The characters meet on a cruise and from then on changes to a story of a contract marriage. Love, at first sight, does not happen as both are engaged to different people at that point in time. Life would have passed them by had Ajay Khurana, father of Akshat Khurana, not taken it into his hand to get them married. He made the circumstances such, that both had to tie the knot with each other – for a month. During this period, relationships are explored before reaching a beautiful HEA. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Please don’t ask me what a HEA is, you will break my heart. :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The story started off well. The prologue was interesting enough for me to turn the pages of the novel. The story had many sweet moments – like the daughter understanding the pain of her father, Akshat seeing Advika smiling for the first time. The scene where Advika is molested is handled well with not too much detailing but enough to bring out the characterization. The story had many levels of love vs. wealth issues and most of them have been handled well. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But where the story has a good storyline, the author made a few misses with the technicalities of story writing. The prologue, though intriguing was not addressed further in the story. The epilogue was the conclusion of the book which though is used often by mystery authors falls flat in a romance. The storyline of Harsh needs a bit of clarity. The character of Riyan was interesting and had a good amount of gray shades which kept me interested enough to reach the end. I like bad girls I suppose. Don't judge me! </div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Even as a kid, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome as she grew up reading all the fairy tales she could lay her hands on, Phantom comics, Mandrake comics and the like. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy end. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Soon, into her teens, Sundari switched her attention from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to a local hero and heroine. Her imagination took flight and she always lived in a rosy cocoon of romance over the years. </span></div>

Lately, Ashish starts hallucinating things. The black hooded man, who
traumatizes him in the nightmares, warns him of dire consequences if he doesn’t
return the timepiece that was given to Ashish by his father at his deathbed.
Burdened with despair, Ashish wishes he could change his destiny and end all

Sparks fly in all directions when two souls meet. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When Kashish meets Sanaa, sparks fly. While she is still not able to understand her sexual orientation, her journey on the road of self-discovery is well penned by Author Ruchi Singh. I liked the way Kashish was full of self-doubts and anger. How she really tried to make herself fall in love with Amit. The doubts of being 'different' are not easy especially in an orthodox society like ours which is to a large extent homophobic. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The chemistry between Sanaa and Kashish make your toe curl. Well written. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The only issue I had with this book is that it's too short. I wanted to explore the point when the parent's find out. I feel such books need to written more nowadays. And not only for the kids but also for the parents. How does a parent deal with such a situation or how does a girl or boy, come home and face their parents with such revelations? It's not easy. And that needed some exploration. But then that's me. I just need to know more and more and more..sort of a community peep tom you can say.<br />
<br />
Well written, Ms. Singh. A definite read for those who love to read romances. Read it with an open mind. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With all the Writer's toolkits that are coming out, it was but natural that I will pick up a book based on writing and promoting during the Pentopublish program of Amazon. J Alchem was a winner of the title during the Pentopublish 2017. I was curious to see what the author had to say regarding his winning - (looking out for juicy details you know :D) which was not an easy thing to pull off amongst the hundreds and thousands that had made an appearance during that time. So when a new author, landed with the title of winner, it made many eyebrows being raised. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Undelivered Letter, which had won the title in that competition was a story of a postman who had not delivered a few letters during his tenure and he regrets it 20 years later. Interesting premise. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to Pen to Pub, the author, as his style is, has covered all the details in a gist. One thing I have realized in my now seven years of marketing books. However much an author shouts and tells the world how to promote a book, the aspiring authors still come in with 'I will be suddenly discovered' syndrome. So whether you all take in all the advice or not is up to you. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first thing I wished the author had inserted was an index. It helps in navigation when you want to have another look in a particular topic. Alchem covers the topic of how to write and how to gather storylines from newspapers and friends. I agree with him. Those are the most powerful tools an author can use to get story ideas. I had so many stories to pen when I saw for the first time the movie called The Jessica Lal case and the Arushi case. But here is one thing every aspiring author must remember. ACT. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Act on those storylines. Pen it down. Or you have lost that moment. Personal experience :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Topics like Beta reading, editing and proofreading have been covered. Again your call what all you can do or not do. Most of the young writers have financial restrains. So what do you do during that time? You go to friends who have that kind of knowledge. But whatever you do, don't bring out a book without an editor. Those who say they don't need an editor - they are fooling themselves. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is one point though that I don't agree with in this book(let). The way to make a Book Cover. Indie publishing is a world where we are in charge of every aspect of the production of the book. I see too many shoddy covers that bring down a book. Stories are wonderful but during a blog tour, readers refuse to pick it up due to unprofessional covers. I have seen it happen too many times and too many times authors have held it against me for not promoting shoddy covers. I leave it to the book bloggers if they want to put it up on their blog or not. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other than the above point, I agree with all the points of Alchem. Aspiring authors will have good pointers when they pick up the book. Again, I can only say that we authors can be hoarse by shouting how to promote, it's up to you, dear aspiring authors, if you want to take it or not. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Star Rating: 5 stars. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kartikeya by Usha Narayanan is a wealth of research and storytelling and something I am sure all mythological lovers will love. While I am a huge fan of Devdutt Patnaik, in whose book reality takes precedence, I must admit, Ms. Narayanan's book has a way of entering your thought process. This is not a quick read and flipping over the pages is not a way to read this book. With this disclaimer firmly established, I must say that I am totally surprised at Ms. Narayanan's take on some of the hidden, or should I say, not much talked about topics of our Hindu Mythology. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another parallel I must draw here is the Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi where the mystical realm takes over. Where the Gods and the Goddesses descend as mere mortals and you can have a deeper understanding as to how it would have been if Shiva was amongst us. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ms. Narayanan has not taken either of the paths. She has firmly walked on retelling the mythological tale with a huge dose of imagination. You would soon question what is real and where imagination sets in. That is what kept me glued to this book till I didn't flip over the last page. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So what did I find unique about this tale? Not being a stranger to mythological tales, I am astounded as of how every story is told differently in different parts of the world. For eg. I was under the impression that Ganesha was the elder one. I was also under the impression the Kartikeya was the son of Parvati and Shiva and the story of how Valli is born - astounded me. It made me question how the same acts would be interpreted in modern India. I had some shocking 'educational' moments here. A very well researched book by Usha Narayanan, I must say. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming to the main story - what you will find in this book is the story of a young boy, who rose from being Oliver Twist to the Lord of the three worlds. Ok bad picturizing but that is what had come to my mind while reading it. Born out of unique circumstances, Kartikeya is brought up by Ganges till Parvati does not seek him out to claim him as her own. He is of course born for a reason and to fulfill his destiny, he undergoes many trials and tribulations. Loads of incidents that keep you from losing interest and of course, when the romance of Kartikeya starts, you can't help but wait with bated breath as to whom he was going to choose. Let me not spoil that for you. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The only issue I had with this book was that it took me some time to get into it. The number of character introduction in the first few chapters kept me guessing as to how the story was progressing. As it is Hindu mythology has a plethora of Gods and Goddesses and every God with multiple names. So don't take this book lightly when you start reading it. It not only brings out many valid points in our Indian mythology but also sheds lights on many questions that we had often wondered but never asked. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But other than that, the characterizations etched by Ms. Narayanan is praiseworthy. Personally, I think, its something beautiful for the younger generation to read when they want to know more about our Gods and Goddesses. Another thing I noticed, especially in this book, is the way she handled Valli and Devasena. Ms. Narayanan has kept the power of feminism burning in her story and that is what makes this book different from other mythological tales I have read. Even the demure Devasena had a fire burning inside her.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A must-read for all mythological lovers. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The Panchatheertha (five pilgrimages) is an outrageously funny, satirical revision of sections 1 & 2 of The Panchatantra, the masterpiece Vishnu Sharma wrote between 1200 BCE to 300 CE. The stories are primarily about statecraft and full of wisdom and morals. Despite that, youngsters found them very entertaining. In the tales, animals act and speak on behalf of human beings. The series begins with a parent story that unfolds story after story; each strung to the other by a narrator.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Vishnu Sharma’s reincarnation Shiva Varma has, in this redraft, revived the ancient Indian tradition of parampara (continuation of knowledge from one guru to the next). In his excitement, he forgot the younger age group of his shishyas (students). His characters now try to explain the motives for their actions, also express their feelings; something The Panchatantra had cleverly avoided doing. Within its pages, animals are still made to think and behave like human beings but have not otherwise been harmed in any way.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The Panchatheertha was considered lost but the discovery of two altered strategies ‘The Loss of Friends’ and ‘Gaining Friends’ should create hope within the large and growing community that has had considerable success with the first and complete failure with the second. Those wanting to meet Shiva Varma are hereby informed he dislikes economists, preferring astrology. He is in samadhi (seclusion / deep meditation) and not in hiding.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">There are many intriguing characters not known to Vishnu Sharma in this adaptation; from a sex consultant plying his trade in the locality Ajilundpenodhoka in district Makasam… to a devadasi (courtesan) wanting to conduct the temple prayers because she is bored… to Sage Narada Muni !!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Bibliophiles are urged to read the original Panchatantra (which Shiva Varma did consider including as an appendix), to truly appreciate the extent to which history gets distorted when it is made to explain itself. Historically, the appendix has been viewed as a vestigial organ with no real function. This is why Shiva Varma chose not to include it… or so he claims.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://48476629-841567659211054915.preview.editmysite.com/uploads/4/8/4/7/48476629/reviewer-arti.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://48476629-841567659211054915.preview.editmysite.com/uploads/4/8/4/7/48476629/reviewer-arti.png" /></a><b>Interview with Arti, about her interest in reviewing</b></h3>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A doctor by profession, but a voracious reader at heart. In an up-close and personal chat with Rubina Ramesh, Arti speaks about her love for stories and how it was born. She keeps her passion alive and kicking by utilizing her commute time. Yes, she takes the metro to work and that is where she gets immersed into this wonderful wonderland of stories.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rubina: What made you take up reviewing?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> I love to read. I have been reading ever since I was a kid, maybe because we stayed at small town and had a handful of friends. And living in eastern India, the days used to be small, so our friends were books. Though, life became busy, I would still take out some time to read. It was in 2012, that a friend of mine suggested that I start reviewing books. I still remember writing my first review and telling her to read it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina:</b> What is the one thing that makes you fall in love with a story?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> The characters and the storyline both. There are some stories where the characters have kept me so involved that the story has taken a backseat.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina:</b> How do you manage to keep personal relationships out of your reviewing?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> Initially, when I started reviewing, I would read books that would fascinate me and review them. Then slowly, I came across a few authors and started reviewing for them too. As far as personal relationships go, I try to be honest with both the reader and the writer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina:</b> I see the number of books you review in a month! How do you manage it?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> I take the metro to work, so I read both on the way up and down, Plus, I sometimes have to wait for my husband on the way back, so I read then. Once I finish a book, I try to review it asap, lest I forget.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina:</b> What does reviewing mean to you?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> It is one way for me to disconnect with the world. It was only yesterday that my kids were not listening, so I moved to the guest room, with my book, finished it and then got back. My anger had dissipated and we started on a new note.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina:</b> Is there any moment when you knew you just could not review a book? Did you still go on or throw the book away?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti: </b>There have been times when I was stuck. I remember one book which I did not feel like reading but out of courtesy I could not say no. I read it, with a heavy heart, and reviewed it half-heartedly.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina</b>: Many people thinK we reviewers review books for a free read. What is your take on this one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> No, I will not agree with this one. Because I for one cannot read a book, free or bought if it does not catch my fancy. And if I like a book, I don’t wait for the author/ publisher to contact me. I go ahead and buy it. And that is the reason, I have many duplicates in my book collection.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Rubina:</b> One book that stayed with you. Why?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Arti:</b> I love romance. But, there was this book by Arthur Hailey in our library, an old book, Flight into Danger. I read it after my class 9 th exams. And I don’t know how many times I read it. Somehow, the excitement just stayed. I have not been able to find that book.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41C-YmaVInL.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="313" height="320" src="https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41C-YmaVInL.jpg" width="200" /></a><br />
Piku and Viru is an evocative account of Piyanjali Kumari's numerous attempt to meet model Vian Rustom. And finally, she does. But is the man who is always filling her dreams with lust and love, does he really exist? Is the man of her dreams a mirage?<br />
<br />
Priyanka Agarwal has simplicity in the way she writes. Agarwal's tale is told simply and explores the emotions a woman goes through when she meets the man of her dreams and who is far out of her reach.<br />
<br />
Set in the media background, this tale could have been anyone. A young teenager dreaming to meet her screen heartthrob. Most of the times such dreams mellow down to teenage fancies. But not with Piku. She met the man and got the chance to get closer to him. Agarwal has brought out the insecurities of a common (wo)man in the presence of a personality. What I appreciated here was the blending of both the emotions was subtle. When the quotients changed and when realization filtered in, are all very subtly written.<br />
<br />
Narrated in the first person, keeping in view of only Piku limits the exploration of the characters since not once is Viru's personal emotions brought into focus. In that way, I would not call this book a romance but rather a chicklit. An emotional exploration of a woman's feeling upon following her heart. And I really think that is the best think about this book. This is no wilting violet. Piyanjali is a woman of today.<br />

</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">What is the dream of a writer? To see the book they have written reach a wider audience. But most of the writers lead an obscured life, hidden away from the limelight. Sometimes due to the lack of knowing who's who and sometimes one can't afford to market themselves enough. We have a saying in our book world, 'everyone makes money except the author.' It's very difficult for an author to make cash, after marketing, paying the media, getting endorsements. And if a writer ever dreams that her book will reach the production houses, the waiting and the rejections often make her leave this profession. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">And then comes a man, who opens the gateway for authors to reach the production houses of India.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">And when I first heard about Sidharth Jain, I was amazed at the confidence the authors had on his honesty and dedication. Personally, I found him very easy to get in touch with and always ready to answer your queries. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><i><span style="font-size: large;">According to Saiswaroopa who has already bagged a contract for her book Avishi, "He gets deals closed with lightning speed."</span></i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So without much ado, here is my chat with the Storyman himself, <b><a href="https://www.facebook.com/TheStoryInk/" target="_blank">Sidharth Jain</a>.</b> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">1. Before we proceed further, can we know the man behind Story Ink? What is the vision of Sidharth Jain?</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My vision is simple. I want to be the ideal and the most loved story company for writer, author, filmmakers, and producers. I want to be the first port of call for every creator. I am very passionate about stories and writers. I love connecting the dots between story and producer, and the vision is very simple and clear.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Books that have bagged contracts via Sidharth Jain</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">2. There was no media man who was so easily accessible to the writers before you came to the scene. What made you open the door for writers to such a large extent?</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I believe numerous people have stories to tell. One never knows the source of the next amazing story, so one has to be accessible and alert all the time.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">3. Do you think this trend will continue? How do you envisage Story Ink say after 10 years for today?</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Storytelling is here to stay. Formats and mediums will evolve, but the basics of a story will always survive. It's integral to human beings and society. I am sure I will continue to be a passionate and compulsive storyteller, even after 10 years. The stories might change, but the storyman won't!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">4. Siddharth, we know how plagiarism is rampant in our industry. How do writers protect themselves?</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">By working with credible professionals, getting the paperwork right, registering material and sharing it professionally are various tools for efficient copyright protection. In fact, it's so much easier nowadays with emails.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1528159985l/40385125.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="475" data-original-width="308" height="320" src="https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1528159985l/40385125.jpg" width="207" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Rhythm of Love by Nivedita Verdula is a good attempt to write a simple love story of Esha and Siddharth. Esha, a small town girl, goes to Mumbai in search for work. She comes from a poor background and goes to live with her Uncle. But as predictable, the uncle is a lecher and she gives him a good kick to walk out of the house - with her virginity intact. I would have preferred a good old ball crunching kick here. But that is my personal opinion and not part of this review. But this scene was well written to invoke this anger in me. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Following Esha's journey, she is lucky enough to get the job on her first interview. She meets Siddharth, her cool boss, and a beautiful friendship starts. A friendship where both make a lot of mistakes, yet find ways to forgive each other. This story has a nice, neatly tied HEA. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then there is Esha's mom. I loved the way her character has been sketched out. A pucca mom she is. Worried and due to her worry, she is always angry. And then when the cause of her anger is gone, she is calm and that change of her character is well portrayed. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The characters are well written. Esha comes across as a simple girl who is trying to make her life better. Siddharth, on the other hand, has a few flaws. Every time he seems to be accusing Esha of something or being angry about some issues. That scene where he had packed a bag full of clothes for Esha, I was left wondering if he wanted to change her or accept her as she was. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The flow of the story is beautiful. A page-turner. I had to know what was going to happen to Siddharth and Esha. There is great chemistry between the two leads. Only one thing I didn't understand was what happened to the email Esha had sent in the first instance. Where did it actually go? Another thing that I felt was there was just too much telling. Things like - he is angry, she is hurt. I needed more action in that. I needed to 'see' her anger, her sadness. Capish?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nivedita Verdula is an emerging author and one I am going to look out for. Generally, I give up after a few attempts of reading a book but this book, I held on to. I wanted to know what happened to Siddharth and Esha. I enjoyed the tete-a-tete between the protagonists. This author is good at punchlines and that I really liked about her. She is definitely on my TBR list. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">A must read for romance lovers. </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51zxZG1MkAL._SY346_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: justify;"><img border="0" data-original-height="346" data-original-width="217" height="320" src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51zxZG1MkAL._SY346_.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Marriages are made in heaven and divorces are planned on earth. At least I believe that. When you are forced to marry someone, or your likes and dislikes clashes with your other half, that was definitely not willed by the Gods. But there is also another aspect to this whole tale. Intolerance. And this kind of intolerance, let me be clear here, I support wholeheartedly. Where education has opened the eyes of the woman and they have realized that they are at par with men. And when she is forced to play a role of a doormat, the warrior inside her rises. One such woman, Saloni, is introduced in Sundari Venkatraman's book, Mr. Perfect.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is one thing about Ms. Venkatraman's book that I really appreciate as a reader. She does not hover over the darkness too much, unlike me I would say, but rushes towards the light at the end of the tunnel. When Saloni finds nothing but unhappiness in her marriage to Manish, she decides to leave him. But her mom, Rati, is against it. According to Rati, a woman's place is always beside her husband. Saloni not only had to fight against such dogmatic view but also her heart's desire where her childhood love, Aarav, resided. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There is a simplicity in this story. While the heat quotient is decently high you can't help but root for the chemistry between Aarav and Saloni. On the other hand, there is another factor in this story. Salon's young son, Mitesh. How does a man accept another man's child without feeling any jealousy? Again I can say that Sundari Venkatraman, has touched or rather taken this part for granted in her story. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Recommended for all romance lovers. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Almost as soon as Devika Fernando could write, she imagined stories and poems. After finishing her education in Germany and returning to her roots in Sri Lanka, she got a chance to turn her passion into her profession. Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with her husband has made her experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds – something that influences her writing. Her trademark are<span style="vertical-align: inherit;"><span style="vertical-align: inherit;"> sweet, yet deeply emotional romance stories where the characters actually fall in love instead of merely falling in lust. She draws inspiration from everyone and everything in life. Besides being a romance novel author, she works as a self-employed German web content writer, as a translator, and as a faithful servant to all the cats, dogs, fish and birds in her home. What she loves most about being an author is the chance to create new worlds and send her protagonists on a journey full of ups and downs that will leave them changed. <div style="text-align: justify;">
Reading a book that touches your heart and leaves a tiny mark in your life is the biggest compliment an author can get. And this compliment I truly can give to Sinchita Ganguly. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Mrinmayi stayed in my mind even after I had closed the book. Mrinmayi is a rebel. She fights against her dictatorial father to do what she wants. She becomes a travel photographer and lives her life in her own terms. She hates the way her mother had accepted the atrocities of her father and vows never to lead such a life. And then she meets Swayam, a man who captures her heart with his brooding personality. The opposites attract and Mrinmayi falls in love, a thing she had sworn never to do. But there is a dark secret looming between the lovers. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
One which even they are unaware of. When Swayam's mother makes her hatred for Mrinmayi very clear, the young lovers are nonplussed. Swayam is tied to his mother's wheelchair and Mrinmayi can't do anything to win her heart. Will the hatred Swayam's mother has for Mrinmayi makes it seem impossible for the lovers to have their own happy ending. And the worst part is, you can't blame the mom. Sometimes, forgiveness is too heavy a gift to bestow on others. Or will they be able to win her heart and live their lives happily ever after? The contrast between the rebel and the silent lover has come out beautifully. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
While Mrinmayi will win your heart with her devil may care attitude, Swayam's cool attitude will frustrate you enough to shake him up. The author has managed to pay with the emotions beautifully. There were moments when I could help tears coming to my eyes. Especially with Swayam's mother's backstory. In this book, I found one thing very endearing. The mix-bag of emotions. When Swayam's mother was trying to stop this marriage, I too waited with bated breath. Will they marry? I was rooting for this love story where the complexities of human life were full of pain and desolation. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The horrors of a patriarchal society and the tolerance of the women folk have been superbly depicted in this novel. I am looking forward to reading more and more from this author. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This book can do with a bit of polishing no doubt. But I don't at all feel hesitant to give this author a five star. The writing has power and that is what pulled me inside the story. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Highly recommended for all Romance lover. It has a high dose of emotional quotient. </div>

The moment she saw him riding, his muscles flexing and his hair flying, she knew she has met a man who would be hard to forget. Of course, sparks fly from the moment she meets him and she finds out that he is the best assignment she could have asked for. Ariya's life changes into a roller coaster life as she is kidnapped along with him and she also learns to conquer some of her darkest fears in the days she stays with Veer. Veer's love is very subtle, In fact, this book of P. G Van surprised me. The love story grows emotionally with as the story progresses. Ariya has many shades in this story. To the self-confident photographer to being a vulnerable daughter. </span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Both the characters, Veer and Ariya are well developed. Even the friends have a role to play and I find that very important in a story. But if I had to choose my favorite it would be Ariya. She had all the shades of life in her. I liked the way she displayed vulnerability and it did come as a surprise to me when the story took this sudden turn. On the other hand, Veer could have shown a bit more emotion. I felt Ariya was the one strong woman whereas Veer had taken a backstep to her. But then all strong female tends to do that to a man. </span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The best part of this book for me was the introduction of Veer. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Abuse. Sometimes physical and mostly mental. But the degrading feeling an abused person undergoes cannot be soothed with any balm. Breaking Vases: Shattering Limitations & Daring to Thrive - A Middle Eastern Woman's Story by Dima Ghawi is a story that must be told. Must be heard in every household where women are often hidden from society in the name of honor and family pride. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dima's story starts off with a natural eastern flavor. I felt ashamed because in some parts I started questioning what the heck is the issue here. I started doubting if the book was at all about abuse. Some of the scenes are so natural in all families that it never draws to you that it's not natural. It's not natural not to have a choice. It's not natural not to have a say in your house. And it's not natural to lead a life where your education is considered a luxury. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But into this world of social deprivation is born a little girl called Dima. Where she is taught to obey her father without questioning his authority. As she grows up she learns to curb her questioning nature for it would bring out bouts of fight in the household. And the exact same transfers to her husband when she gets married. This part of the story I found very interesting. Her heart filled with romance and while I am sure her husband did care for her, but his upbringing, where he is taught that women are the weaker sex, does not let him give his hundred percent to his marriage. There are many places in this book where you will question the absence of abuse. But as you read on, the subtle way it has been introduced is mind-blowing. It's an abuse of rights. An abuse of relationship. A psychological abuse. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBf0EL7-ivToDKnT0kUkiN88UpUASfFzv-CLbmxy5sJeCPjgEypSyJxjDKaqWaQHIX37Xh73QBY2UxhyphenhyphenbCBT9KBZ55hF02XAplcrYxdOpwrx7FanGRrRShLt61MeqljKv27dCu3ueqq2XM/s1600/Book+Mockups-10.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBf0EL7-ivToDKnT0kUkiN88UpUASfFzv-CLbmxy5sJeCPjgEypSyJxjDKaqWaQHIX37Xh73QBY2UxhyphenhyphenbCBT9KBZ55hF02XAplcrYxdOpwrx7FanGRrRShLt61MeqljKv27dCu3ueqq2XM/s200/Book+Mockups-10.png" width="200" /></a></div>
Breaking Vases is a story of Dima who breaks every social norm to reach a level where she becomes a motivator for many women. Her story is a story of immigration, of starting a new life with nothing. It would have been so easy to give in. To accept the life she felt was destined for her. Yet she chose an independent path which must not have been easy for her. More than fighting the abuser, fighting the society becomes more difficult. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I cannot even understand how a divorce of a niece will affect the aunts and uncles and other members of the society. This hypocrisy is difficult to digest. I applaud Dima for the courage she has shown in fighting against the patriarchal society. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This book has some powerful scenes. The scene where both the mother and daughter walk out as free women is one of the most powerful and inspiring in this book. The second one when realization dawns on Dima as to why her father is supporting her is like a revelation that destroys her innocent mind forever. Shattered Vases is shattering of innocent ideologies- one by one.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
From the first page, Dima's character makes a home in your heart. There were moments when I wanted to pat her back and yet was astounded when she quietly revolted against her father. It was the last scene with her father I could relate to most. To love someone unconditionally, even your parents and hope for that love to be returned can break any child's heart when it's not. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An emotional roller coaster ride and one I am glad I got to read this book.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Sundari Venkatraman is an indie author who has 40 titles (36 books & 4 collections) to her name, all Top 100 Bestsellers on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1 Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Then came the writing – a true bolt out of the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.</span></div>

You might have lots of ideas, storylines but sitting on your bums and fleshing them out is what makes you a writer. Of course, you can always hire a ghostwriter (And we do have an upcoming booklet on how to become a ghostwriter or hire one, coming soon by D.R Downer) but that being the case, you don’t need to read this section at all and can skip to the next.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Keep your inner editor at bay but don’t kill it:</b> The writing process is the lengthiest of all. Many feel that while writing you should kill your inner editor. But I would suggest (from experience) resurrect it from time to time and read what you have written. Too many errors make you lose interest in your own writing. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Stay connected with your work:</b> There will be many times when you feel you are going in a wrong direction and your characters are not behaving as you want them to behave. Take a step backward. Go to a movie or meet with friends. Just chill. And return. Always return. Don’t take too long a gap or that work of yours will be shelved. Keep one thing in mind always. A writer sits on their bums and writes. I wish there was another way to express this. There isn’t.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>At this stage of your work,</b> <b>keep all your marketing ideas or search at bay</b>. Marketing is a very daunting business and if you feel that a hurdle is ahead of you, you will lose your interest. One step at a time is the best way to finish your novel. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Don’t even think of formatting your doc</b>: formatting can be very distracting and if you justify your document at this stage, it will make you overlook many errors. The best thing would be to keep your formatting off and keep the document left justified. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Keep all your digital equipment away from your writing desk</b>: Treat writing like a 9 am to 5 pm job. Even if you do it for an hour or two. While you are writing, try your best to avoid looking into your phone or emails. Facebook and Twitter are things to avoid. All those likes can wait. I know, I know, it’s easy to advise but hard to follow but hey you know what, whenever you are distracted, close your eyes and imagine your book cover and on that book cover, your name. It’s very motivating to go on. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="line-height: 200%; text-align: justify; text-indent: .5in; text-justify: inter-ideograph;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Take breaks and sleep on it</b>: Sleep, however much as a writer you want to avoid it, it is a must. People think I don’t sleep at all. If only you all knew that I can sleep at the drop of a hat. I don’t need much sleep out of habit but whenever I get a chance, I do take power naps. Sometimes, when an idea is stuck in your head and you just can’t translate it on paper, take a nap. Nothing clears your mind like a good sleep. Lack of sleep will make you lose not only your interest but also your objectivity. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Blurb of the Book:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Kalki Krishnamurthy’s Ponniyin Selvan is a masterpiece that has enthralled generations of Tamil readers. Many authors have written phenomenal books in Tamil literature after Kalki Krishnamurthy, but Ponniyin Selvan remains the most popular, widely-read novel. It has just the right mixture of all things that makes an epic – political intrigue, conspiracy, betrayal, huge dollops of romance, infidelity, seduction, passion, alluring women, unrequited love, sacrifice and pure love. This is Volume II of the masterpiece.</div>

<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/511Oxf5r8HL.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="333" height="400" src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/511Oxf5r8HL.jpg" width="266" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I have gone a bit wayward with this series of Royal Romance by Devika Fernando. I had started with 1 and went to 3 and then grabbed 2. Thankfully, the stories are not connected and I didn't face any loopholes. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">The story of The Prince's Stubborn Wife is a story of second chances. When Princes Olivia loses her husband to a freak accident, she is responsible for the kingdom he had left behind. Prince Sebastian, Olivia's brother-in-law, has no interest whatsoever in being a ruler. But the people of the kingdom are stuck in the age-old mindset of not having a woman ruler. Fighting against their dogmatic ideologies, her passion for Sebastian and a certain sect of people who are hell bent to remove her from the throne, Olivia is certainly not a princess I can envy. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">How she battles against political and traditional issues makes this story a wonderful read. Compared to the other books, I found this book the best in the series. It has the right amount of pathos, revenge, romance, and passion. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">The scenes are well-etched and what I loved the most is the way the author has created an imaginary kingdom is commendable. I felt I was a part of that place and in a royal romance that is something beautiful. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">There are many layers to this story - with romance the author has mixed a huge dose of feminism. From the queen mother of Olivia to Olivia refusing to step down from the throne just to please some male ego, made me root for her. Olivia is a much stronger character than Sebastian. His is quieter - like a pillar of strength. He compliments Olivia's boldness with his quiet strength. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <b><span style="font-size: large;">A Quote from The Book:</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><span style="font-size: large;">But surely you do not truly think such a letter weighs heavier than the law? A law laid down by my ancestors and dealing with one of the most critical matters imaginable?</span></i><br />
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">The First Line of the book:</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<i><b><span style="font-size: large;">“I am not getting married.” </span></b></i><br />
<i><b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></i> <i><b><span style="font-size: large;">Olivia’s startled voice rang loudly in the silence, and she cringed. Yes, yes, princesses weren’t supposed to raise their voices and blurt out the first thing on their minds—but how could she not react like that when she’d been asked to marry again? And asked so nonchalantly, as if it was as simple as a walk down the beach or consent to an interview?!</span></b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">My Recommendation:</span></b><br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b> <span style="font-size: large;">A definite read for all romance authors.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Author of the Book:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51vO+Pg1lvL._US230_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="230" data-original-width="230" height="400" src="https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51vO+Pg1lvL._US230_.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Almost as soon as Devika Fernando could write, she imagined stories and poems. After finishing her education in Germany and returning to her roots in Sri Lanka, she got a chance to turn her passion into her profession. Having lived in Germany and in Sri Lanka with her husband has made her experience the best (and the worst) of two totally different worlds - something that influences her writing. Her trademark is writing sweet and sensual, deeply emotional romance stories where the characters actually fall in love instead of merely falling in lust.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">What she loves most about being an author is the chance to create new worlds and send her protagonists on a journey full of ups and downs that will leave them changed. She draws inspiration from everyone and everything in life. Besides being a romance novel author, Devika is a faithful servant to all the cats and dogs she has adopted. When she's not writing, she's reading or thinking about writing.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
