Complicated and a damn interesting one. :)

The story starts at a different note and just as I was getting comfortable with Aarav, I come to realize that he is just a part  of the picture. Picture toh abhi baki hai dosto :)(Pun not intended !!)

Embers of light is a story of five humans who are destined to fight against Evil. They have been distributed across the world, each living an ordinary life, till they are not bought together, under false pretences by the Vaashis. In this century they are Ricky, Augusto, Jiang, Elena and Jai. They don’t know they are the chosen ones to destroy the evils the Vaashi’s are fearing and expecting to face any day. 

Now who or what are the Vaashis? They are a cross between Geloangels and Humans. (Not Bad !) They could have gone back to their realm, but they had decided to stay on Earth, for they were bound by honor to protect a secret for the betterment of humans. The Vaashi kings were direct descendents of the Geloangel who had come to the earth and had fallen in love with a Human girl. (How cute).

The Vaashi kings were bestowed by a boon to have only one son. But, this was broken with the birth of the twins to the last Vaashi King. Both the Princes were totally different from each other. One was born angry and other with a smile. Zeeyan and Saurya respectively. The Dark one and the Prince of Hearts.

As with all good and evil stories, this a clash between the two brothers and sadly it is Saurya who loses his life. But ....

He is born again as...... (You really expected me to tell you that? :))

How are the five chosen ones related to this? How can they win over the evil Zeeyan whose Reevan powers are too dangerous for any human to face? Well, these are the questions that make this story so damn interesting.

What I liked

The way Abhi has handled each character. There are many characters and the sudden introduction of all the characters is a bit daunting for a reader, especially with some uncommon names. But to give the writer his due credit, I can honestly say that they were all needed. If you like the influx of characters by J.K Rowling, you won’t have complaints with this one too. 

The story crisscrosses between the past and the future, interwoven intrinsically. A job well done indeed. 

I almost forgot to mention. The characters come across from all over the world and each character’s character traits are very well done. Whether a policeman from China or an environmentalist from Russia… they all have been well defined and given their strange quirks or strengths according to their culture and need of the hour.

I could'nt understand why the twins were born :P. It was boon, rite? So, to break a boon you need to have a damn good reason. 

Other than that as a reader, I really loved this one. 

Would I recommend it? Definitely. For those who love Harry Potter or The Lightening thief, this book is definitely for you. And you have some monsters to slay too in this pre-sequel to many more to come. :)
